தமிழ் சைக்கியாட்ரி ஜர்னல் இதழின் நோக்கம் மற்றும் வழிகாட்டுதல்கள்:

தமிழ் சைக்கியாட்ரி மாத இதழானது, மனநல மருத்துவத் துறையில் ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கும் ஒரு திருப்பு முனையாகும். சைக்கியாட்ரிக் ஜர்னல் இதழின் முக்கியத்துவமே, இங்கு அறிவியல் வார்த்தைகளின் துணையோடு எளிதாக படிப்பதற்கும், அதனை இன்னும் நிபுணர்களின் தரவுகளோடு இணைப்பதே முழுமுதற் எண்ணமாக வைத்திருக்கிறோம்.

மனநல அறிவியல் கட்டுரைகளை தமிழில் வாசிப்பதினால், அதன் உள்ளார்ந்த அர்த்தங்களை ஆழமாகவும், முழுமையாகவும், எளிதாகவும் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியுமேயானால், அதை வாசிப்பவர்களை மேலும் வாசிக்கத் தூண்டுவதோடு, படைக்கவும் தூண்டும் என்பதில் ஐயமில்லை. அறிவியல் அறிவு ஆங்கிலம் தெரிந்தவர்களை மட்டுமே சென்றடைந்த காலம் இனி மாறி, அனைத்துத் தரப்பினரையும் மனநலத் துறையின் மகத்தான வளர்ச்சியின் பயன் சென்றடைய வேண்டும் என்பதே எங்களது அவா.

மனநல மருத்துவர்கள் மட்டுமில்லாது, உளவியல் நிபுணர்கள், செவிலியர்கள் மற்றும் சமூகநலப் பணியாளர்கள் என அனைவருக்கும் இணைப்பாகவும், பாலமாகவும் இருப்பதே இந்த மருத்துவ நாளிதழ் செய்ய வேண்டிய அடிப்படைக் கடமையாக நாங்கள் கருதுகின்றோம்.
